When actress Vijayalakshmi made her big screen debut as a soft, reticent girl-next-door in Venkat Prabhu’s Chennai 600028, little did we expect that she would soon don a hot, sexy avatar. She also made a special appearance in Venkat Prabhu's Saroja in 2008
But Vijayalakshmi did exactly that and how! With her recent release Katrathu Kalavu opposite Krishna, the actress is all set to prove that she can pull off a new glamorous avatar with poise.
“Yes, most actresses are initially reluctant to don sexy roles. In my case, after a couple of films, I was a bit concerned about being stereotyped. That’s when I decided to switch to a new avatar,” begins the pretty young actress.
“I am playing an air hostess in the movie. I am happy about the role since I wanted to pursue the career in my real life,” she says with a smile.
Elaborating more on her role, she says, “The character has got enormous importance. In fact, it is as important as that of Krishna, the hero of the film.”
Watch out for her role opposite Rajnikant; not for Endhiran but for the mega budget 3D animation flick Sultan the Warrior. Vijayalakshmi is lending her voice to the ladylove of the Sultan.
